Her autobiography, Life among the Paiutes: their Wrongs and Claims (1883) is considered the first autobiography by a Native American woman.  In 1993 she was inducted posthumously into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame.  In 2005, the state of Nevada erected a statue to her memory.
